We have just finished our first week in Kruger Park. We met a lovely couple at the Ritz who were also booked into the same tour as us (Lorrie and Janet). If it was not for them, we would not be in Cape Town now as we would have missed our flight thanks to a cock up with Real Gap (thanks guys x). The Semi-luxury tents turned out to be a 3 star lodge with private shower and flowers on the bed! Fantastic surprise.
Up at 5am every morning, so you can imagine the state we were in everyday. Luckily our tour guide Dion (we called him Celine) was fantastic fun. The 4 of us had the biggest laugh with so many inappropriate jokes! All we need to say is 2 litres, see photos and guess which one that refers to!!!
The highlight of our trip in Kruger was witnessing a herd of about 300 buffalo coming down to the watering hole where there was also 2 elephants, a hippo (who by now was very grumpy), several giraffe, zebra and warthogs. We also saw lions, hyenas, rhino's and loads and loads of impala (250,000 in the park).
After 20 hours of being awake on Saturday, we finally made it to Cape Town and are now having a relaxing Sunday before we attempt the Shark Diving, Table Mountain and wine tours, hopefully with some Whale and Penguin Watching in between.

Your photos are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI like to consider myself highly inappropriate, however I'm struggling to guess the 2litres joke from the photos? In order to guess i've just typed some things into google that are probably going to buck the search trends.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've been really busy so far, you're going to need a holiday after this.
Look closer at the 5 legged elephant, Ding Dong!!!
ReplyDeleteBeen walking around cape town today, I could spend a lot of time and money here. We'll upload the photos later in the week.
Glad to see some of the locals were excited to see you guys.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having lots and lots of fun, you both deserve it xxx
