Week Two: Cape Town

Arrived in Cape Town after being awake for 20 hours! Will did very well picking the Guest House. Nine flowers is right near Table Mountain and very close to long street and the water front.

All very expensive here to be honest, so spent far to much money already.

Table Mountain has had a table cloth on it all week, so have not had a chance to go up yet. We only have Friday and Saturday left, so hopefully the weather will clear up in time.

We have been to Robben Island. This was very rushed, but we managed to see Nelson Mandela's very small cell and Robert Sobukwe's small hut that he was confined to by himself for 6 years, he was not even allowed to talk to the four guards that were standing outside!

SHARKS!!! We finally did our shark diving! it was fantastic! I managed to get into my wet suit, although luckily no photo's!! We saw about 7 sharks. The biggest one being 4 metres long. Will took all the photos, as it was very difficult holding on with one hand under water. The sea was a little rough, so only 3 people were sick on the boat! All a bit expensive, so no dvd, but worth every penny.

We are hiring a car tomorrow to drive down to Cape Point and to run over some baboon's.

Off to Guatemala on Saturday. Really not looking forward to the flights and quite anxious about the experience. We have heard from our 'buddy' who went out there on the 1st Sept (Mia) she has advised us to bring clothes that we don't mind throwing away and lots and lots of mozy spray! We shall let you all know when we can how we are getting on.

Oh, and Will bought himself a new hat! He looks very American.

  3. Will. Love the hat. I quite like the idea of you picking up a novelty "tourist" hat at every place you visit.

Shark pictures are very cool. I cannot believe how big and close they were.
